Sachs Recommend the following steps to maximise the service life of Dual Mass Flywheels.
The Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) is designed to dampen engine vibrations within certain pre-determined
ranges for each vehicle type. DMFs are required on modern engines in order to cope with the increased
vibrational characteristics generated by these new engines. Conventional torsion dampers, which are
